Where Are They Now? The Cast of Charmed
In October of this year, the mega-hit WB show Charmed will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary. The series followed a trio of sisters, known as the Charmed Ones, as they battled evil beings in an effort to protect the innocent. Since its debut, the show has received a cult following and ran an impressive eight seasons. In honor of this milestone, let’s take a look at what the cast is up to now.
Alyssa Milano (Phoebe Halliwell)
THEN: Alyssa Milano (born December 19, 1972) portrayed Phoebe Halliwell, the middle child following the death of her sister Prue. She has the gift of premonitions and a taste for bad boys. Phoebe is involved in a longtime romance with a half demon/half human named Cole Turner. Following Cole's ascension to becoming the Source, the two split up. Phoebe ends up marrying Coop, who is Cupid.
Prior to Charmed, Milano was most famous for her role of Samantha in Who's The Boss, and had roles in Melrose Place, Fear, and Causalities of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story.
NOW: After Charmed ended in 2006, Milano has kept busy, appearing on the TV shows My Name Is Earl, Mistresses, and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. She can currently be seen in the Netflix Original Series Insatiable. In 2009, the actress married Creative Artists Agency agent David Bugliari, and have two children together: Elizabella and Milo. Milano is an advocate and leading force in the #metoo movement.
Holly Marie Combs "Piper Halliwell"
THEN: Holly Marie Combs (born December 3, 1973) portrayed Piper Halliwell, who became the oldest sister following the death of Prue. Piper is in a longtime relationship with the Charmed Ones' Whitelighter Leo, who she ultimately marries and has children with. She was often the rock of the family, providing stability and support to her other sisters. Her powers include the ability to freeze objects, as well as blow them up.
Combs was known for her role as Kimberly Brock in the series Picket Fences (1992-1996). She also portrayed real-life murderer Diane Zamora in the television film Love's Deadly Triangle: The Texas Cadet Murder.
NOW: Since wrapping Charmed, Combs was cast as Ella Montgomery in the show Pretty Little Liars, and was a series regular for the first three seasons. Her and former cast-mate Shannen Doherty also had their own road trip reality show together, entitled Off the Map with Shannen & Holly. The actress then starred in Hallmark's Love's Complicated. She is the mother to three sons with ex-husband David Donoho, and in September 2017 became engaged to her boyfriend Mike.
Shannen Doherty "Prue Halliwell"
THEN: Shannen Doherty (born April 12, 1971) portrayed the eldest sister Prue Halliwell for the first three seasons of the show. She was arguably the most powerful sister witch, with the abilities of astral projection and telekinesis. Prue was murdered by the demonic assassin Shax in the Season Three finale.
Prior to being cast on the show, Doherty had an impressive resume. She was known for her role of Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 and appeared in films including Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985), Heathers (1988) and Mallrats (1995).
NOW: Since leaving the show after the third season, Doherty appeared in the reality show Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty, where she would do the dirty work and break up for people. She reprised her role of Brenda Walsh on the CW spinoff 90210. The actress suffers from Crohn's disease, and recently battled breast cancer. In April 2017, Doherty confirmed that she was in remission.
Rose McGowan "Paige Matthews"
THEN: Rose McGowan (born September 5, 1973) portrayed the half-sister of the Halliwells, Paige Matthews. She is the youngest of the sisters, and the character was introduced after Prue’s death. Paige is fiercely independent and is the secret love child of the Halliwell sisters’ mother Patty and her Whitelighter Sam. She is both witch and Whitelighter, and has telekinetic powers. Paige marries Henry Mitchell.
McGowan had appeared in many films before joining the cast, her most notable roles being in Scream (1996) and Jawbreaker (1999).
NOW: Since the series’ finale, McGowan appeared in a slew of films, including The Black Dahlia, Grindhouse, Machete, and on the TV show Nip/Tuck with former cast member Julian McMahon. She has most recently dedicated her time to fighting sexual harassment in Hollywood, and is one of numerous women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. Her journey is documented on her reality show Citizen Rose.
Brian Krause "Leo Wyatt"
THEN: Brian Krause (born February 1, 1969) starred as Whiteligher and husband to Piper Leo Wyatt, who guided the Charmed Ones on their journey as witches. Leo had the power to orb (magically teleport) from place to place, and could also sense his charges. He can also heal, hover, and glamor himself.
Prior to joining the show, Krause starred in the 1992 horror film Sleepwalkers, and Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991).
NOW: Since the show’s conclusion, he has appeared in shows including Mad Men, The Closer, and Castle, and has done voicework for the video game L.A Noire.
Julian McMahon "Cole Turner"
THEN: Julian McMahon (born July 27, 1968) played bad-boy Cole Turner, who was the half-demon half-human love interest of Phoebe. Their relationship was often intense, but Cole remained dedicated to Phoebe. The two ultimately split up when he became the Source.
Before landing his role on Charmed, the Australian actor starred on the soap opera Home and Away, and on the American daytime soap Another World.
NOW: Since leaving the show after Season Five, McMahon went on to play Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck, and portrayed super villain Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four. The actor most recently appeared in the Hulu series Runaways.
Drew Fuller "Chris Halliwell"
THEN: Drew Fuller (born May 19, 1980) portrayed the adult version of Piper and Leo’s son Chris. The character is introduced in Season 5 as a Whitelighter from the future who helps the sisters fight the Titans. He is revealed to be their son, with the purpose of preventing his older brother Wyatt from growing up to be evil.
Fuller was a former male model with little acting experience before he landed the role of Chris.
NOW: Since leaving the show after Season 6, Fuller starred in the drama The Ultimate Gift, Blonde Ambition, and most notably Army Wives.
Dorian Gregory (Darryl Morris)
THEN: Dorian Gregory (born January 26, 1971) played Inspector Darryl Morris, who was a friend and ally to the Halliwell sisters. He constantly helped the witches get out of sticky situations with the law, while they helped him with supernatural cases.
Before joining the show in Season one, Gregory starred in Baywatch Nights, and appeared in small roles on shows like Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, and Living Single.
NOW: Since appearing on the show, Gregory was the final host of Soul Train from 2003-2006. He’s most recently appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Kaley Cuoco "Billie Jenkins"
THEN: Kaley Cuoco (born November 30, 1985) joined the series during its final season as Billie Jenkins. Billie was a witch and apprentice to the Charmed Ones. Along with her sister Christy, the duo were the Ultimate Power, and were manipulated by the Triad to try and kill the sisters.
Before joining the show as Billie, Cuoco landed her breakthrough role as Bridget Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules. She has also appeared in the Disney Channel original movie Alley Cats Strike in 2000.
NOW: After the conclusion of Charmed in 2006, Cuoco found mega success as Penny in the massively popular show The Big Bang Theory. The actress also starred in films like The Wedding Ringer and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. She married Karl Cook earlier this year.
