Game of Thrones is one of the most watched and talked about TV shows in history. A fantasy adventure of shocking twists and turns with a great cast, a fair amount of gore and sex, and excellent writing, this great show, based on George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, quickly became many people's favorite since its debut in 2011 to its finale in 2019.

Now the TV show is over, and we have eight great seasons to look back on with many unforgettable characters, good and evil, pure and untrustworthy. We've seen the top ten hottest males in Game of Thrones; now, here's a list of the top five most beautiful female characters! Please note that opinions are subjective and these are the comments of the writer only.

This article contains some major spoilers for “Game of Thrones.”

5. Margaery Tyrell

Portrayed by: Natalie Dormer

The Queen Consort from Highgarden wanted one thing only: to be the queen of the Seven Kingdoms. First marrying Jauffre Lannister and then his brother, Tommen, Margaery was a clever player of the game before her untimely death.

She chose her words carefully, was graceful and smiling even when under threat or dishing out smooth insults, and was beautiful to boot. Natalie Dormer did a great job of playing this clever young royal.

4. Cersei Lannister

Portrayed by: Lena Headey

Love her or hate her, Cersei Lannister is an excellently developed character in Game of Thrones. Ruthless, cold, and with all the grace in the world, she's definitely one of my favorites in the entire series. She's also extremely beautiful, short hair or long!

Her many gorgeous gowns throughout the series made my heart ache. Lena Headey definitely gained some more fans during her appearance in GoT and Cersei was never dull on screen.

3. Sansa Stark

Portrayed by: Sophie Turner

Sansa, the eldest daughter of House Stark, transforms from a slightly spoiled brat in series one into a strong and wise young woman during her terrible trials in this gritty series. She also blossoms from a teenager into gorgeous lady, charming the boots off many viewers. Sophie Turner was perfect for the role. Those eyes, though!

2. Daenerys Targaryen

Portrayed by: Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke just has one of those faces that looks as though it was carved by angels. Throw in some gorgeous dresses, enchanting long hair (with many intricate styles), and her development from an innocent child to a determined queen, and you have yourself one enthralling character.

I can't be the only one who swooned each time Khaleesi was on screen. She is definitely one of the most beautiful ladies in GoT, hands down, and the favorite of many as well.

1. Missandei

Portrayed by: Nathalie Emmanuel

Originally a slave and interpreter, Missandei quickly becomes one of Daenerys' most trusted companions. It was close between her and the Mother of Dragons as to whom should be number one on this list, and Missandei won by a hair for the fact that she is just stunning in every single shot she's in and pulls it off with what looks like almost minimal effort.

Wise and with an air of innocence about her, this graceful young woman is, in my opinion, the most beautiful woman in Game of Thrones.

Honorable Mentions

Some honorable mentions include Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), the Dornish bastard daughter and Oberyn Martell's lover; Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), the youngest Stark daughter; and Shae (Sibel Kekilli), a prostitute who is Tyrian Lannister's secret lover in King's Landing for a short while. Though there were many beautiful characters in this great TV series, the above five were the ones who stood out the most.

Game of Thrones may be over, but fans are still looking forward to a possible alternate ending in R. R. Martin's upcoming, long-awaited novels. Who is your favorite character and why?
