15 TV Shows You Should Definitely Binge Watch

Updated on August 20, 2018

What show should I binge watch next?

Finding a new show to watch can turn into a pretty long process when either nothing seems to interest you or literally everything interests you. Maybe you're in desperate need of a few suggestions, and if you are then you've come to the right place! It seems as if everyone around me is already watching the shows listed below, but if you're not then maybe one of these fifteen shows will interest you!

15. The Walking Dead.

The last two or three years, I've been hearing a lot of great things about The Walking Dead, but it wasn't until last year that I actually started watching it. Some of the characters (looking at you Mr. Bad ass, Carl Grimes) really interested me and I loved watching their scenes on YouTube, but nothing happening made sense to me because I hadn't watched the show, so I finally decided to do so. I wasn't expecting to be so interested in it, but I ended up watching the seven seasons that were out at the time in the span of two weeks!

If you don't know, The Walking Dead is a show about a large group of characters (the leader being Rick Grimes) trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. The characters all have unique stories and pretty great—sometimes pretty horrible—qualities! Fair warning, the show will break your heart a whole lot more than it'll make you laugh, and do not get too attached to any of the characters because their fates can turn out to be pretty gruesome.

14. Mr. Robot.

I'm not going to lie, I haven't seen every episode of Mr. Robot. I started watching the show back in 2015 when it first came out but catching every episode is hard, and going back to watch what you missed later can be even harder. That being said, what I have seen has been amazing. This is a show about an anti-social man named Elliot who works with a large group of hackers to screw over corporate America, though he works for a corporation himself. The show is incredibly interesting and the characters make you fall in love with the story! I definitely recommend giving this show a try!

13. The End of the F***ing World.

This a show that can be binge-watched in only a day--though what show can't when you really put your mind to it?--and that will send you on a roller coaster of emotions. The main characters of the show are teenagers, James and Alyssa, who decide to go on a little road trip one day. It's not as basic as I've made it sound. James thinks he's a psychopath and plans to kill Alyssa, and Alyssa is a crude and blunt girl who feels as if she doesn't fit in at her new school or in her new family, so she wants to search for her dad.

I put watching this show off for months because, yeah, the plot interested me, but I thought the show wouldn't be as interesting as it sounded. I thought it might be just like other teen angst shows or something, but it definitely wasn't. It wasn't like anything I'd ever seen before. The visuals were gorgeous and the plot and characters were incredible! I plan to watch it again very soon, and I definitely recommend watching it if you haven't already!

12. Modern Family.

If you're not already watching Modern Family, I definitely think you should. It's a mockumentary, and who doesn't love those? The characters are all witty, sarcastic, and just insanely fun to watch! The show is a comedy, but watch for long enough and it might make you cry a few times!

11. Shameless.

Another show I put off watching for an ungodly amount of time and then became obsessed with over the course of a few days. Shameless can make you laugh, make you cry, and even make you wanna punch a few holes in the wall. The characters definitely suck the sympathy right out of you the more you watch. Frank Gallagher is the name of the alcoholic father of six. He often abandons his kids and their needs to drink--Unless he's trying to get clean for the thousandth time, then he might do something nice for the kids--or get high. Fiona Gallagher is the older daughter, who acts more like a mother to the other five kids than a sister.

Every season of the show is chaotic, the characters go through various phases, some getting better and some getting way worse the longer the show goes on, but one thing is for sure; you won't get bored!

10. American Horror Story.

It's wild to me that so many people have yet to see this amazing show! If you haven't watched it yet, please do! Each season is unique and follows its own story. There have been seasons that took place in asylums, hotels, freak shows and even in a murder house! There hasn't been one season of this show that I haven't loved, though some were a lot better than others. Each season has an incredible batch of characters with intriguing stories, and each episode will leave you wondering what exactly will happen next and waiting all too impatiently for more.

If you're into freaky things, American Horror Story is the show for you!

9. Andi Mack.

Andi Mack is a Disney show, but it's incredible! The characters aren't nearly as cringey as other Disney show characters are, and the story being told is actually very interesting. When I first heard about Andi Mack, I was sure that it would be another Disney show set to be canceled after the second season, but I ended up watching the first two episodes and falling in love!

This show tells the story of a girl named Andi who's life gets turned upside down when she learns that her 'sister' is actually her mom. Things get even crazier when Andi meets her dad, who hadn't been in her life at all until a while after Bex, Andi's mom, revealed her secret.

Another interesting thing about this show is Andi's two best friends, Cyrus and Buffy. Buffy is an athlete who can be overly competitive at times and has an intense need to win everything. Her mom is in the military, overseas the majority of the time, and it's great to see a storyline like that in a kid's TV show. An even better storyline to see in a kid's TV show that's already pushing huge boundaries? Cyrus'.

Cyrus, after a while of dating a girl, realizes that he isn't into girls, and he happens to have a crush on Andi's crush turned boyfriend, Jonah Beck. The way the show handles his storyline is, in my opinion, absolutely incredible. It's not made out to be a huge deal that Cyrus, a thirteen-year-old boy, likes boys rather than girls.

This show is showing kids that it's okay not to be straight, and some people may think that that's a much too mature topic for kids to be exposed to, but I think those people are just homophobic and need to be quiet. This show is going to help a lot of children accept themselves rather than hating themselves and thinking they're wrong for liking the gender that they like.

The show is full of drama, and though it's innocent, kid-friendly drama, it's still a really good show that I'm super invested in! It'll make you cry more times than you might think, and it'll make you laugh too!

8. Blackish & Grown-ish.

I'm not gonna lie, I haven't even watched much of these shows myself, but I've seen enough to realize that they're absolutely amazing and more people should be watching them. Blackish is a comedy about a man named Dre, his wife, and his five kids. He's a successful black man with a great job who's simply trying to stick to his roots, teach his kids good values, and prepare them for the future.

Grown-ish is a spin-off that revolves around Zoey, their firstborn, and her experiences in college. The show is extremely relatable, in my opinion, and I'm not even in college!

The shows have their fair share of heartwarming moments and do a great job of addressing real-life issues in a hilarious way. Their characters are pretty diverse too!

7. Fuller House.

If you're a fan of Full House, family sitcoms, or throwbacks, this is the show for you! I don't think it's something I'd be watching if I wasn't such a big fan of the original show, but it's pretty entertaining even though it can be pretty cringe sometimes!

It tells the story of a widowed DJ and how she deals with raising her three boys all by herself, until her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler, and her little sister, Stephanie, decide to move in with her to help out. Fans of the old show will most likely enjoy this one as it has frequent cameos from the old cast and incredibly likable characters from the new one.

6. HIM

HIM is a three-part British television series about a misjudged boy, who goes on unnamed, and his supernatural power. It reminds me just a bit of The End of the F***ing World for whatever reason, and I really enjoyed watching it!

Definitely, not enough people have heard of this show, and it might be a little difficult to find online if you live in the US, but hey, I managed! It's so worth the search!

5. Brooklyn nine nine.

This show is just plain hilarious! The characters are incredible and quirky and so fun to watch! My words really can't do this show any justice, you'll just have to watch it yourself to see how amazing it is!

This show is about how a talented cop named Jake Peralta deals with suddenly having to follow the rules when Ray Holt becomes the new commanding officer of Brooklyn's 99th precinct.

4. The OA.

It blows my mind that so many people have still yet to see this amazing Netflix show, even though it's about to come out with its second season! The show tells the story of Prairie Johnson, a woman who's just returned after being kidnapped for seven whole years! Her family is shocked to learn that she's no longer blind when she returns, and that's about all that they learn because she refuses to talk to them about what happened to her while she was gone. She does, however, talk about it with an odd group of friends that she's made!

The show was hard for me to watch because I was so invested in the story that watching the torture Prairie and the other characters had to go through was extremely tough, but I'm so glad I watched it and I can't wait for the second season!

3. A Series of Unfortunate Events.

This is not the angsty show you might think it is because of the title! The show is about three orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny who try to solve the mystery of what happened to their parents, who were 'killed' in a mysterious house fire. They're put into the care of an evil man named Count Olaf, who happens to be after their inheritance. After it's discovered that his intentions aren't so pure, the orphans are put into the care of various other people, but Count Olaf continues to find them and cause them trouble. The show is pretty hilarious, as shows with Neil Patrick Harris in them usually are!

2. Orange Is the New Black.

I don't think there are a lot of people who haven't watched Orange Is the New Black yet, but for those of you who haven't, definitely, do. The show can be hilarious or it can make you sob for hours, and those are the types of shows that I love! When watching it, you'll be introduced to several characters, some of which you'll start out hating and then grow to love, some of which you'll love at first and hate later, and some that you won't even know how to feel about! The characters can pull at your heartstrings no matter how you feel about them, and each of their stories is very unique.

The show initially revolves around Piper, a girl sent to prison for her involvement with a drug runner ten years earlier, but as the series continues, the show becomes more about everyone.

1. The Office.

Who doesn't love The Office? How could I make a list of shows that you should definitely binge watch without including The Office? It's got the most enjoyable, distinct characters in it and the storylines are incredible. I could watch this show every day for the rest of my life and not get bored! I never would've thought that a show about the employees at a paper company would be so amazing, but it is! Definitely give this a watch when you're bored, upset, happy, or whatever else!

Conclusion?

I think all of these shows are amazing, and if you ever happen to be searching for something new and exciting to watch, give one of these a try! I don't think you'll regret it!
