If you haven't noticed, we're pretty big fans of The Rock around here. It's almost hard to remember that the now-movie star got his start in wrestling. Ahh, simpler times. So is it weird to say that we started to tear up after learning that The Rock's 21-year-old daughter Ava Raine has made her wrestling debut? *Sniffs* it's just so freakin' cool!
We guess one of those take your daughter to work days must've paid off, because Raine, whose real name is Simone Johnson, is officially a part of the family business.
"Ava Raine, @TheRock’s daughter, makes her NXT debut," a tweet from the @BRWrestling account states.
And on TikTok, WWE (@wwenxt) shared Johnson's epic entrance on Tuesday's WWE NXT show.
According to People, Raine has been incognito for the last couple of episodes, but her identity was finally revealed. "It was Ava Raine all along!" the TikTok video's caption states.
People in the comments section were absolutely stoked to see that Raine will be following in her father's footsteps. "FINALLY!!!! THE FUTURE PEOPLE 'S CHAMP HAS ARRIVED TO NXT!!!" @r.e.d.j.24 wrote. "Oh look. It's Pebbles," @Thunder_Chunky06 teased. "Finally, she's here !!!!!!!!! Now challenge Mandy for the belt sis !!! When your time comes girl your my hero and your dad is amazing," a third commenter wrote. "Well soon she will join the bloodline... This is just the beginning of an Era of Ava Raine," @clay.083 predicted.
This is of course referencing the fact that The Rock isn't Raine's only famous family member, People reports. In fact, she's actually the fourth-generation WWE wrestler to come from her family. The first being her great-grandfather Peter Maivia, the second was her grandfather Rocky Johnson, and her great-grandmother Lia Maivia was one of wrestling's first female promoters.
We think it's totally time for a female Johnson to take the spotlight. We'll be rooting for you, Ava Raine!
