Woman Swears “Wedding Crashers” Hinted at “Despicable Me” Minions

Is this a leap or totally possible?

A video on TikTok is the exact reason why the internet is absolutely perfect — yep, we totally mean it. Creator Bri (@littlered224) blew our minds after making a connection between the movies Wedding Crashers and Despicable Me. And when you see it, you'll be completely astounded too.

We're not being hyperbolic when we say that the TikToker is a genius — and she certainly made a brilliant connection while watching Wedding Crashers recently.

The clip shows Bri flipping between both movies and one can clearly see that there are similarities. Take for instance the scarf that Todd Cleary wears in Wedding Crashers. It looks suspiciously similar to the scarf that Gru is known for wearing. If you're still not convinced, take a look at what Isla Fisher's character says in WC that is freakishly familiar.

"I knew something looked and sounded familiar! Is this where then idea of Despicable Me came from?! WHO KNEW?!" the TikToker wrote in the caption.

People in the comments section were so surprised. "*In my best Owen Wilson voice* Wow!" @thecheetoprincess wrote. "One of the writers for Despicable Me must’ve been working on both movies at the same time. Animated movies take years to make," @mattysancho guessed. "Both movies had diff writers, but I find hard to believe the writers weren’t watching Wedding Crashers when they wrote Despicable Me," @joseph_salvo argued. "Despicable Me also has minions saying 'boda' a lot in their gibberish, which means wedding!" @laurenjacquelyn pointed out.

Woahhh, this is truly a galaxy-brain moment. Looks like we're going to have to keep our eyes peeled for any more signs of the connection the next time we watch!
