Well look who finally showed up to the party. That's right, new stills from the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania show someone we've been waiting to see for forever. And the internet is overflowing with their excitement.
The exclusive stills were released by Empire Magazine and shows our hero Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) locking eyes with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). Take a look at a copy of the photo below.
For the uninformed, Kang is a MCU villain... a supervillain. According to Newsweek, the villain made his debut on the season finale of Loki. But if the Kang in Ant-Man looks a little different from the Kang in Loki, well there's a good reason for that.
"Kang The Conqueror in our movie is a very different character," Quantumania director Peyton Reed explained to Empire. "He's someone who has dominion over time, and he's a warrior and a strategist."
Kang will make appearances in the next two Marvel films; Secret Wars and The Kang Dynasty. And it seems that he's really going to make a mess of things in the MCU.
“I think it has a profound impact on the MCU,” Reed explained. “Jeff Loveness, who wrote this movie, is writing The Kang Dynasty as well, so there’s been a lot of discussion about the impact that this appearance of Kang The Conqueror makes. There are big things in store," he wrote.
Whew, okay now we're excited. And people online were just as excited. "Can we get to February 17 already???" one commenter on Twitter wondered. "ANT-MAN AND KANG THE CONQUEROR!!!!!" another commenter exclaimed. "Kang looks *chefs kiss* perfect!" someone else added. "Here we goooo!" chimed in another person.
We wont' know all the juicy details until we get closer to the release date, but suffice it to say we are so darn pumped.
