Pete Davidson Opens Up About Being With Ariana Grande When Mac Miller Died

Pete seems like a good dude.

It's so rare that we get to see celebrities be honest about their struggles — and when they do, it can be really powerful. That's why so many people are applauding former-SNL star Pete Davidson, who recently spoke candidly about being there for Ariana Grande when she learned that her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller had died.

A clip of the conversation was captured and shared to TikTok, where it was posted by The footage shows Davidson speaking with radio host Charlamagne tha God.

The tragic incident happened while Davidson and Grande were dating, which would understandably put him in a tricky situation. But as the video shows, he really handled the situation with aplomb.

"When you was dating Ariana Grande and, you know, Mac passed away and she was openly grieving Mac in a real way — 'oh that's the love of my life, my soulmate' — how did that affect you?" Charlamagne asked him.

"I totally got it," Davidson responded. "We were only together for a few months, she'd even tell you this. I was like listen, I was like I get it. Do whatever you gotta do. I'll be here," he added.

"I'll be here until you don't want me to be here," he recalled he said.

Awww, that's so sweet. And with over 4.3 million views other people were so touched by Davidson's sensitivity to his former love. "Someone needs to treat Pete the way he treats these ladies, he deserves so much happiness," wrote @laurrmc in the comments section. "This is why he gets the ladies. He's a good guy," @iamkate87 agreed. "Was never a big fan of Pete but I know that was a tough part of his life with Ariana. I could only imagine both their pain. She was so broken," @rencefabian150 chimed in.

None of us could imagine how painful this must have been for Ariana, but it really warms out hearts to know that the person closest to her was so understanding.
