There's Going to Be a "Good Burger 2" and Kel Mitchell Just Gave Us a Huge Hint at What to Expect

"Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?"

In news that will have '90s kids cheering, a second Good Burger movie has been greenlit. Both Kennan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have signed on to return as the Ed and Dexter, the goofy employees of the fictional fast food chain Good Burger. And Mitchell recently shared some details of the upcoming project.

Of course, Good Burger was a hit sketch on the Nickelodeon show All That back in the '90s. It grew so popular that eventually it became its own stand alone movie in 1997. And people have been asking for a sequel ever since.

Mitchell announced the project recently and on October 24, 2022 he even shared that the crew had done their first table read.

"Now we’re cooking! Table read went really good! Good vibes! Good Laughs, Good Burgers!" he wrote online. Are you screaming? Because we're screaming already.

Speaking with PopSugar, Mitchell talked excitedly about the upcoming project and said that they're hoping to appeal to fans of the original Good Burger and now a younger generation of their kids.

"We know that a lot of fans have grown up on [the movie] and the fans who saw it in the '90s are adults now and have kids and they've introduced it to their children," he explained. "So we wanted to make sure that we catered toward the new generation and also the generation that grew up on it. There's going to be a lot of fun jokes for the adults and for the kids," he added.

Mitchell couldn't reveal too many details of the upcoming project, but did hint that same of the stars from the first movie might be coming back for cameos in the sequel.

"I can't tell you who's coming back but everyone's going to be super excited and screaming when they see some of the characters that come back," he said. "Fans of the first one are going to love ['Good Burger 2'] because the story is similar to the first one but it's like 100-percent crazier and more fun."

The movie doesn't have a release date yet, but you know we'll be watching.
