Greendale Human Beings Rejoice! — "Community" is Finally Getting a Movie

Six seasons and a movie! Six seasons and a movie! If you're anything like us you've been chanting this ever since Community went off the air in 2015. But today = we have some good news. Peacock has announced that they've finally made all of our dreams come true and have ordered the Community movie to be made.

The news was dropped online by TikToker @andrewsvisual who was celebrating as much as we were. "People been waiting on this one," he wrote in the caption.

"A Community movie is set to release in 2023 on Peacock!" he wrote in the video's text overlay.

According to Variety, Peacock and Sony Pictures TV have greenlit a movie based on the NBC comedy staring Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Bash, and Ken Jeong. But there haven't been too many details given. What also isn't known is whether fellow Community castmates Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover will be returning.

“Community’ was light years ahead of its time when it premiered on NBC in 2009 and we are thrilled to once again visit the brilliant minds of Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest and this impeccable cast," Jason Clodfelter, co-president of Sony Pictures Television Studios told the news outlet. “We are grateful to Peacock, our partners at UTV and to all the zealous fans who have cherished this iconic show.”

People in the comments section of the TikTok video were cheering. "BEST NEWS EVER," @leahdaw31 exclaimed. "I hope Troy returns," @nik929 added. "WE NEEDED THAT NEWS," @dudebroonz wrote. "The best comedy ever finally returns!" @zephyrruu added.

We guess this we aren't in the darkest timeline after all!
