This Is Not a Drill: Bob Iger Is Back as the CEO Of The Walt Disney Company

And fans are beyond thrilled.

In a turn of events that no one — literally no one expected, the Walt Disney Company has announced a huge shake up that has the internet rocking. According to a press release, former Disney CEO Bob Iger will return to the helm of the multi-billion dollar organization. He replaces CEO Bob Chapek, who stepped down from the position on November 20, 2022.

The startling news made its way to TikTok, where people everywhere had something to say. Get all the details from the video shared by the @wdwnt account below.

"BREAKING NEWS," the video's onscreen caption reads, before adding that this was the biggest news "of the year."

In an email sent to castmembers directly from Iger himself, he wrote, "It is with an incredible sense of gratitude and humility, and, I must admit, a bit of amazement that I write to you this evening with the news that I am returning to the Walt Disney Company as Chief Executive Officer."

As the TikTok voiceover explained, Chapek had a rocky career with Disney, "with analysts even calling for Chapek to be fired." According to Fortune, many disagreed with Chapeks' calls when it came to reorganizing power within the company, the pricey new Genie+ app (which was meant to act as a fast pass in Disney parks), and Chapek's decision for the company to stay silent when Florida officials were trying to pass a bill that would prevent discussion of sexual orientation in classrooms from Kindergarten to third grade across the state. Chapek eventually did speak out against the bill, but many Disney employees felt that it was too little, too late.

"It seems like seems like some decisions were made," the voiceover added.

People in the comments section were ecstatic. "Dreams really do come true. Welcome back Iger," one commenter wrote. "The fourth quarter earning were really really bad. He needed to be gone because of his decisions," another commenter pointed out. "A dream come true! Maybe some magic will return! We were about to give up on Disney just to preserve cherished memories from prior trips," someone else wrote.

Clearly, the love for Bob Iger is so real.
