So many fans rushed to see the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever when it hit theaters on November 11, but they were in for the most heartbreaking surprise. The film paid tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman in so many ways, but it was the gesture before the movie even started that has people in tears on Twitter.
Thankfully, someone on Twitter managed to capture the heartfelt moment and shared it for us all to enjoy.
"Only Chadwick Boseman in the opening credits for #WakandaForever," @khaled74 wrote online. He even included several snippets from the movie — and this is just about when we start to well up.
The movie appeared to do several things to memorialize Boseman, who passed from colon cancer in 2020. The first gesture was a new Marvel logo. Usually the Marvel logo shows several characters across the MCU. While this one only featured photos of the Black Panther actor and was played in silence. There was also a message before the movie which read: "Dedicated to our friend Chadwick Boseman." Ugh, our hearts!
The comments section was emotional. "Excuse me, I have to find the onion cutting ninjas," @JCshow71 joked. "I cried from the first scene...and the silence during this just took me out. #ripchadwickboseman. Beautiful movie..enjoyed it thoroughly!!" @T69218942 added. "Spoiler alert but in the film there’s no music. The character’s death is announced and it cuts to this in silence. You could hear a pin drop in the theater, it hit super hard," @yakobmckee shared. "In theaters it was silent and that made it way more impactful. Still really impactful. This whole movie made me cry several times," @bumbling_bea_ added.
Oh gosh, we almost can't handle just how emotional this little preview was. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is sure to be an emotional journey and is playing everywhere in theaters now.
