Anne Hathaway Sat Next to Anna Wintour During a Fashion Show and Had the Perfect "Devil Wears Prada" Moment

"Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking."

The Devil Wears Prada is a much-quoted movie for a reason. So imagine how absolutely freaked we were when we saw that none other Anne Hathaway was spotted sitting next to Anna Wintour at a fashion show recently. And you just need to see what she was wearing when it happened.

Hathaway recalled the whole incident in a recent interview with the Today Show's Savannah Guthrie, that was later shared to TikTok (@todayshow).

"Here you are next to Anna Wintour who famously was the inspiration for 'The Devil Wears Prada.' You're looking like your character Andy," Guthrie pointed out. And yeah — she really, really does.

But Hathaway clarified that the move wasn't on purpose. "It was kind of nuts, wasn't it? It was by accident, I was supposed to wear something else, the shoes didn't fit. This was the other outfit that came," she explained. She even wore her hair in a Andy-ish way that Hathaway swore was just another weird coincidence. But the movie star never thought anyone would pick up on the similarities.

"I looked in the mirror and thought, 'oh that's funny, I wonder if anyone will notice?'" she recalled. "They noticed."

People in the comments section were cracking up. "The hairstylist knew what he was doing," @smunch12 wrote. "'Oh, I know what to do!!' She may have not planned it, but he definitely did!!" @armani_gregorio agreed. "Literally the reason why I got bangs," @justice4yall added, speaking of Andy's now-infamous hairdo.

While another commenter referenced our other favorite Anne Hathaway movie: "Her Majesty Queen of Genovia is so graceful," @wellyeahbutno1 chimed in.

She really is!
