Having seen The Batman three times now, I absolutely love the direction the new movies are headed with Robert Pattinson as the dark knight. I started thinking about what villain (or villains!) I wanted to see in the next film. After all, a good hero needs a good villain and The Batman 2 has a multitude of baddies from which to choose. Let's get into our list!

1. Hush

Hush

Hush

Hush is actually Thomas Elliot, a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne driven insane by his abusive parents. What makes Hush so terrifying is that he knows Wayne is Batman. He can get inside Batman’s head to try and break him mentally, while also being capable of breaking him physically. With the direction the new Batman is headed, Hush seems like a perfect villain.

We haven't seen Hush in a major movie before and seeing him in the next Batman movie would be exciting. His abilities include genius intellect, master physician, strategist, marksman with incredible strength, speed, and reflexes.

Hush first appeared in Batman #609 (January 2003)

2. Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange keeps himself in top physical form and is a brilliant psychiatrist. He possesses extensive knowledge of genetics, which he uses to propel his fixation on Batman's secret identity. Strange is currently plagued by schizophrenic episodes that often leave him confused and dangerous. Strange would definitely be a worthy adversary for Pattinson's version of The Batman.

Professor Hugo Strange first appears in Detective Comics #36 (February 1940)

3. Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze

Possessing a freeze gun, cryo-suit, genius intelligence, and expertise in cryogenics, Mr. Freeze would be a difficult fight for the caped crusader. We need an updated version of the coolest villain in Gotham ,compared to the version we got in Batman Forever.

Mr. Freeze first appeared in Batman #121 (February, 1959) as Mr. Zero.

4. Clayface

Clayface

Clayface

Clayface has been around for a long time and deserves to be a main villain. Basil Karlo is the original Clayface and I'd love to see him in a Batman movie. Imagine him evolving into the super-human version of Clayface. The time is now because I feel the technology is there to do Clayface justice.

Clayface first appeared in Detective Comics #40 (June 1940)

5. Black Mask

Black Mask

Black Mask

While Black Mask was the villain in Birds of Prey, I'd like to see him show up in a movie like The Batman 2. What if he showed up to challenge Penguin as Mafia boss? That would be a great storyline. A criminal mastermind with excellent marksmanship and proficient in hand-to-hand combat would be difficult for Batman.

Black Mask first appeared in Batman #386 (1985)

6. Deathstroke

Deathstroke

Deathstroke

Deathstroke is a fantastic villain that is deserving of more screen time. Having appeared briefly in the Snyder Cut of Justice League made me want more of him. Having enhanced speed, strength, reflexes, stamina, and intelligence would make Deathstroke one of the most formidable villains Batman could face. Not to mention, that he also has regenerative abilities and is immortal. If you look at a list of Deathstroke's abilities and powers, it is clear that he's a very dangerous man.

Deathstroke the Terminator first appeared in The New Teen Titans #2 in December 1980

7. Two-Face

Two-Face

Two-Face

Look, I know we've seen Two-Face in two movies now, but he's a really good villain in the world of Batman. Not only is he a popular name, but I think he would fit in the Pattinson world. We all know the story of Harvey Dent, but imagine a darker version of Two-Face coming in and challenging the Penguin for control of the criminal underworld, similar to my Black Mask idea. Maybe Two-Face and Black Mask for the next movie?

Two-Face first appeared in Detective Comics #66 (August 1942).

8. The Joker

The Joker

The Joker

Being able to top the performance in The Dark Knight will be an impossible task. Yes, we've seen him numerous times, but The Joker is synonymous with The Batman. He's the main baddie. We got a small glimpse of him in The Batman, so we know he's out there and we would not be disappointed to see The Clown Prince of Crime pull out his bag of tricks once again.

Conclusion

Those are my Top 8 choices to be the main villain in The Batman 2. Others I thought about showing up in a minor role were Solomon Grundy, Poison Ivy, Calendar Man and the Ventriloquist. Either way I'm excited to see which direction they go in the next movie!
