With Hobbs and Shaw hitting theaters next weekend, let's rank all eight Fast and Furious movies from the worst to the best!
#8 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Coming in last place is the third installment of the franchise, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. This movie just feels out of place in this franchise. It feels more like a spin-off than a continuing story. I also didn't like Lucas Black in this movie as he doesn't feel like the right choice to put in a franchise like this. This movie does becomes more interesting when they tie it into the franchise after the sixth movie. However, this film just doesn't give off the Fast and Furious vibe to me.
#7 The Fast and the Furious 8
In the seventh spot of my list is The Fast and the Furious 8. Now I know a lot of people like this movie and would put it higher on their list. However, I just did not like it. I didn't think the movie felt complete without Paul Walker. They took the action way, way over the top and some of the characters somehow had amazing strength that doesn't make sense. I did not like how the feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson affected the film. And Vin Diesel's character at one point becomes like the worlds greatest spy.... It just doesn't make sense. I did not like how Vin Diesel's character goes against the team and Dwayne Johnson's character becomes apart of the team all of a sudden, I think he worked better when he was the cop. I just didn't like where they took the franchise with this one.
#6 2 Fast 2 Furious
2 Fast 2 Furious is one of the movies that is enjoyable, yet there is just something about it that you can't get into. I could never re-watch this entry. With the absence of Vin Diesel's character, the movie does not feel complete. These movies work best when Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are apart of it. Although I do enjoy the race scenes in this movie, and Tyrese Gibson's charisma brings a little something to the franchise, this movie just falls flat to me.
#5 Fast and Furious
Coming in the number five spot is Fast and Furious. I think this movie was an improvement from the second and third movies. I find the character of Dom very interesting in this film. We see Vin Diesel go on this revenge tale to find the killer of Letty. It brings an emotional and personal story for Dominic Toretto and is a joy to watch! It also brings back together Vin Diesel and Paul Walker to the franchise, which is the best aspect of these movies.

#4 The Fast and the Furious
Now with the film that started it all, The Fast and the Furious. I have heard that this movie is just a knock-off of Point Break. However, I watched this movie before I ever watched Point Break and I fell in love with this movie. I loved the racing and how these street racers are also involved in crimes. I also love how Paul Walker's character is an undercover cop investigating these crimes, but he became close and realized that these guy aren't really bad guys. Damn, maybe it is a knock-off of Point Break... I love this movie, regardless.
#3 Fast and Furious 6
Breaking into the top three of the list is Fast and Furious 6. This movie was originally supposed to be two movies, but instead they combined the two into one. So this movie actually has two endings which makes it non-stop action! This movie has a great action sequence involving a tank on a freeway, then it has another involving a plane on the runway. During the plane scene, there is also a fight scene in which Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson team up to fight the bad guys. This movie makes for an enjoyable watch!
#2 Furious 7
Furious 7 take the runner up spot on the list. This is the first Fast and Furious movie I had seen in theaters. I made sure I was there opening day. It is heartfelt with the sad passing of Paul Walker which is felt in the movie. The love flows from the screen with actors making sure to make the movie in memory of Paul Walker. This film had a more family oriented story to it and this is one that I put on frequently. It has some over the top action but just enough for some fun and not to be ridiculous.
#1 Fast Five
Taking the number one spot on the list is the definition of summer blockbuster, Fast Five. This movie is a ton of fun to watch. The introduction of Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs is refreshing and adds some fun with the character's interactions. It is always fun to watch two meat heads like Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson duke it out on the big screen. This movie turns the franchise around with the crew shifting from street racers to these international criminals. The change takes the franchise in this new direction, turning it into the over the top action movies we have come to know.

The only two movies in this franchise I have seen was the first and fifth. Should I check the rest of them out?
