For those who enjoy the Twilight book series and movies, there is more from the franchise to become immersed in. Fans still may experience spin offs that truly belong in the world of Twilight.
Midnight Sun is Twilight from Edward’s point of view. It all started when Stephenie Meyer had inspiration to write the first chapter of Twilight from Edward’s perspective. While standing in line at the post office, she jotted down things he would say or was thinking. Midnight Sun is a peak into the mind of Edward Cullen, his thoughts, feelings and insight during the events of Twilight. More about the Cullen family is provided during Edward’s narrative. It is a pleasurable read, and an in depth description of the story of Twilight. Stephenie Meyer may never finish Midnight Sun. Unfortunately, when she gave the draft to people producing the Twilight film, it was leaked and the unfinished draft was posted on the internet. Stephenie Meyer was disappointed and the project was shelved. The chapters can be found on Stephenie Meyer’s website along with the story that inspired the creation of Midnight Sun. It may be finished and published someday. We can wait until then!
Life and Death
Life and Death is Twilight told from the point of view of a boy. Life and Death was the inclusion of the 10th anniversary edition of Twilight, instead of a book forward, Stephenie Meyer gave fans Life and Death. It has become known as a gender swap.
The plot is nearly exactly the same as Twilight, except this time it is told from Beau’s point of view, instead of Bella’s. Stephenie Meyer was questioned at book signings, that Bella’s character sounded like a damsel in distress. The result! She wrote a boy heroine. Not that much unlike twilight, yet different indeed.
A pleasure to read and fans can experience the world of Twilight told from a male’s perspective. What would happen if a boy fell in love with a female vampire in the world of Twilight? Experience the romance between a female vampire and a human boy.
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
The Short Second life of Bree Tanner is an Eclipse novella by Stephenie Meyer. Follows the second life of Bree Tanner, life after Bree is changed into a vampire, hence the name.
It is a companion novel to the Twilight Saga. It is a darker themed plot as it follows the steps of Bree Tanner and her inclusion of a vampire army. 16-year-old vampire Bree is mentioned In Eclipse as Bella observes the uncontrollable bloodlust of a newborn girl.
The story does not have a happy ending. The novel gives more insight, into the events of Eclipse and the movements of the Volturi. Stephenie Meyer began writing the story even before Twilight was published. The Second Life of Bree Tanner was published as a standalone novella on June 5, 2010.
