Cheryl Cecchetto has famously entertained the world’s top entertainers at their most important events. As owner and President of Sequoia Productions, she has been hired to produce the grandest party at the Emmys®, the Academy Awards® and events for many of the world’s most discerning and prestigious clients.

She and her team have produced the coveted Primetime Emmys Governors Ball and Emmys Creative Arts Ball for 17 consecutive years. The Emmys events are North America’s largest, annual seated dinners, with nearly 4,000 and 3,000 guests respectively.
Cecchetto has coordinated and produced the seminal Academy Awards Governors Ball, the glittering grand finale to Hollywood’s awards season, for 27 consecutive years. She has also been the leader of a 13 year run at Australia’s elite G’DAY USA Gala.
From humble beginnings in a tiny Santa Monica apartment, Cecchetto built Sequoia Productions into a powerhouse that continually sets the bar for innovation, originality and stunning production values.

Patina Chefs Prepare a Three-Course Menu For The Emmys
What the Stars Will Eat at The Ball
Joachim Splichal, Master Chef & Founder, Patina Restaurant Group worked with his Executive chefs Gregg Wiele, of the Culinary Patina Restaurant Group, Alec Lestr of Patina Catering and Executive Pastry Chef Frania Mendivil to create a three-course menu.
It’s the 21st year that Splichal and his team have been invited to prepare the dinner for the prestigious event. This year Patina worked with Babe Farms in Santa Maria to plant seeds and grow a variety of produce just for this event. Here’s this year’s Patina Menu for the Governors Ball
First Course – Colorful heirloom beets with pistachio-goat cheese “bonbons,” blood oranges, preserved lemon, roasted eggplant puree, baby fennel confit, Lolla Rosa, black olive “soil,” and tangelo vinaigrette.
Main Course – “Turf & Turf” is thyme-roasted tenderloin and slow-braised short rib, wild mushroom pithivier, rapini, rainbow carrots, and caramelized shallot jus.
Dessert – Ocoa chocolate crémeux with tropical coconut mousse, torched meringue, and exotic fruit. Your menu doesn’t have to be as extravagant. You can pick up a variation of many of these items at your local grocery store.
Mixologist Charlie Joly makes Emmy Award Cocktails

During the 68th Emmy Award Governor's Ball, the dashing Charles Joly, award-winning bartender of World Class Spirits made two craft cocktails for the special celebratory party.
The nominees and winners first sipped a Ketel One Moonlighter and The Emmys Old Fashioned.The Television Academy was kind to offer recipe cards of both drinks. Now you can make your own cocktail while watching awards shows and pretend that you are in Hollywood.
The Ketel One Moonlighter - created by Mixologist Charles Joly is a simple, yet elegant cocktail, ideal for a toast to a special occasion. Mildly effervescent, crystal clear and delicately floral, due to the lavender.
For 325 years, Kettle One Vodka is made by the Nolet family in Schiedam, Holland. It's produced by European winter wheat offering a sophisticated flavor profile and crisp finish.
Here is the recipe:
1 1/2 oz. Ketel One Vodka
3/4 oz Chamomile-lavender syrup (Brew 1 cup of strong chamomile and lavender tea. Remove the tea bags. Measure the brewed tea with equal volume of sugar until dissolved. Chill before using.
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz. Cocchi Americano
3 oz. soda water
Add mint and lavender springs for garnish.
Joly's second drink is The Emmys Old Fashioned made with The Hilhaven Lodge blended Straight American Whiskey, sugar cube, dashes of aromatic bitters and orange peel.
In Beverly Hills, Hillhaven Lodge was established in 1927 as an exclusive entertainment escape for a real estate mogul. For 8o years, Hilhaven Lodge was a posh Hollywood elite playground. The home was passed down from one generation to another. Today, Hollywood Director Brett Ratner owns The Hilhaven Lodge. In collaboration with spirits company Diagaeo have developed this new-to-world whiskey. It's a distinctive blend of three different whiskeys - Bourbon, Tennessee Whiskey and Tye Whiskey offering a smooth tasting experience.
Here is the recipe:
1 1/2 oz. The Hilhaven Lodge Blended Straight American Whiskey
1 sugar cube
3 dashes of Aromatic bitters
1 orange peel
Cocktail Inspiration - This classic cocktail offers a rich, complexity of the whiskey to shine through, and still retains a delicious and smooth finish.

The stylish Kevin Lee, owner and floral designer of LA Premier told me that he ordered 100,000 flowers from all over the world to provide the exquisite arrangements for the parties. He also incorporated beautiful water-wise succulent plants.
Elegant Table with Elegant Wine
The exclusive wine served at the Governor's Ball before, during and after dinner is by Sterling Vineyards. Mari Coyle, Winemaker of Sterling Vineyards shared with me that approximately 5040 bottles of Sterling Vineyards wine will be uncorked at the Governors Ball. These wines will be poured into 25,200 glasses.

Napa Valley 2014 Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc.
Award Winning Bubbly
Jamie Alexander Stewart, U.S. Brand Ambassador, Ferrari Trento are pouring 30,000 flutes from 5,000 bottles. He excitedly shared with me that the FerrariTrento Brut NV acheived two amazing awards during The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships : World Champion Classic Blanc de Blancs 2016 & Best Italian Sparkling Wine 2016. "It's the best award on earth," said Stewart.

Erika Chavez-Graziano, the owner of Cellar Door Chocolates and her chocolate-maker Christina Keller made 38,000 pieces of a variety of homemade elegant chocolates. Some of my favorites include the dark chocolate peppermint bars, raspberry truffles, milk and dark pralines.
Cellar Door Chocolates has been the exclusive chocolatier for the past three years for the Television Academy Emmys.
