When i was doing my National Service commitment i was garrisoned at Sembawang barracks as part of the Far East Land Force. There were still alive at the that time Women who had been subjected to the agony of 'footbinding'. This was a banned practice where baby girls had their feet constricted in tight bandages preventing growth so as to become a curiosity of having dainty feet. Thankfully times have changed!

It is amazing that those practices still had remnants even in our time. It truly is fortunate that times have changed; I'm all for progress and moving forward and leaving behind backward practices that basically torture people.

My Queen, Thanh Ben Mansour, looks no more than early 20s. Some even mistake her for a teenage girl if she wears no makeup. Guys go crazy over her even though they know she is married to an eccentric, wealthy British man. I am He.

I've come to realise that all Hindi girls are born with a 'mystique' that prepares them spiritually for life journey. They are indeed fortunate to embrace the sacredness of the divine feminine and carry themselves with grace, confidence and dignity. No national costume is as charming as the saree rendering it's wearer almost Goddess status. On reaching her matronly years the Woman has acquired wisdom to pass on to others. In so many languages the word 'Mother' is derived from the Sanskrit word MA.

Astartlingly beautiful and demure Lady was Madame Chiang Kai Shek whose given name was 'May Ling'. Born into the world of Imperial intrigue in late 19th century Imperial China and upon her marriage was to become the First Lady of the Republic of China. She was one of the formidable 'Soong sisters' and was instrumental in high level negotiations of state, diplomacy, as well as conduct of a war against invaders even down to showing compassion for the welfare of ordinary soldiers. Madame lived to be 103 and may well be regarded (unofficially) as the last Queen of China.

Adele Koh born 1933 in the federated Malay states town of Taiping. Of Hokien speaking parents she adopted for herself the French girl's name of Adele meaning 'good humour'! Adele had to grow up in an enemy occupied Singapore but arose from the austerity of shortages of everything and brutality of an oppressor to train as a school teacher. Adele though decided on a career in journalism and studied at what was to become Nanyang university. She took karate lessons to keep the wolves at bay and attained black belt standard. Adele Koh was graced with the prominent high cheek bones good looks, jet black hair she could wear either 'bee hive' style or straight brushed with a part down the middle. When presented to The Queen of England, Adele garbed in traditional 'cheog sam' curtseyed before Her Majesty and Adele's slender legs were revealed up to the thigh level.
