When you think of famous Hollywood twins, duos like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen or Tia and Tamera Mowry may come to mind. But you may not know that many famous celebrities have less-famous twin siblings. Let's take a look at 12 celebrities you might not know have a twin.


Scarlett Johansson

Born on November 22, 1984, and raised in New York City, Avengers star Scarlett Johansson has a twin brother named Hunter who is three minutes younger than the actress. Scarlett and Hunter even appeared alongside each other in the 1996 film Manny & Lo. While Scarlett continued to pursue an impressive and successful acting career, her brother has since made many charitable and political contributions. Hunter served as a campaign adviser for President Barack Obama in 2008.

Ashton Kutcher

That 70's Show alum Ashton Kutcher and his fraternal twin brother Michael were born on February 7, 1978. Michael developed cerebral palsy and cardiomyopathy, requiring a heart transplant in his teenage years. Ashton enrolled at the University of Iowa in 1996, where he planned on majoring in biochemical engineering; he was motivated to find a cure for his brother's ailment. Though Ashton ventured into the world of acting instead, he remains a strong supporter of his brother. Michael is a spokesman for Reaching for the Stars, an organization advocating for children with cerebral palsy.


Rami Malek

Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek was born with an identical twin brother, Sami, on May 12, 1981, to Egyptian immigrant parents. While Rami first made a big splash in the entertainment world with his role in Mr. Robot, his brother opted for a more traditional route. Sami is a middle school ESL and English teacher based in Los Angeles. Rami even brought his twin brother along to the 2019 Golden Globe Awards, making the media and fans do a double take.

Vin Diesel

The Fast and the Furious action star Vin Diesel was actually born Mark Sinclair on July 18, 1967, alongside his fraternal twin brother Paul. While Vin is a huge movie star that has starred in a slew of blockbuster films, his brother Paul is far more private and has shied away from the limelight. He is a producer and also works in the sound department. When the media caught wind that the actor had a twin brother, a frenzy quickly followed. They got the brother's name right, but not the picture. Diesel then took to social media to finally reveal the identity of his twin, putting the rumors to rest.


Gisele Bündchen

World-famous supermodel and Victoria's Secret Angel Gisele Bündchen is known for her stunning looks, and the genetic lottery struck twice; Gisele has a fraternal twin named Patrícia. Born on July 20, 1980, the twins also have four other sisters, making for one beautiful brood. Both sisters joined a modeling course at 13, though Gisele stuck with it and found major success on the catwalk. Patrícia is her sister's spokeswoman and manager, and the twins joined forces to launch Gisele Bündchen Intimates in 2011.


Kiefer Sutherland

Everyone knows that Designated Survivor star Kiefer Sutherland is the son of famed actor Donald Sutherland, but few know he also has a twin sister named Rachel. Born on December 21, 1966, the pair grew up in Toronto, Ontario when their parents divorced. Though brother Kiefer decided to follow in his father's footsteps and embrace the acting world, Rachel opted to work from behind the scenes as a post-production supervisor on films and television in Toronto.


Alanis Morrisette

Canadian-American singer Alanis Morrisette is known for her alternative rock sound, but did you know she also has a musically inclined twin brother too? Born on June 1, 1975, Alanis and her twin brother Wade both gravitated towards music at a young age. Alanis went on to find major success with Jagged Little Pill, and Wade combined his interests in yoga and music to create a kirtan/indie rock sound and album. Both Morrisettes continue to perform music, and Wade is also a yoga instructor and therapist.


Parker Posey

Dubbed the "Queen of the Indies," Parker Posey is famous for her appearances in '90s films like Dazed and Confused, Party Girl, and Clockwatchers. Born on November 8, 1968, with twin brother Christopher, the two grew up in Mississippi and would ultimately follow different paths. Parker dove into acting and headed to Hollywood, while Christopher took an alternative career route and became a lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia.


Jon Heder

Funnyman Jon Heder is famous for his performances in comedies like Napoleon Dynamite, Benchwarmers and Blades of Glory. He and his identical twin brother Dan were born on October 26, 1977. Both brothers have found a successful career in the film industry, with Jon in front and Dan behind the camera. Dan works in animation and visual effect, notably the film 47 Ronin and alongside Jon in 2006's Monster House. In a 2009 interview with David Letterman, Jon said that growing up he and his twin, "caused a lot of trouble by pretending to be the other."


Nicholas Brendon

Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Nicholas Brendon played nerdy heartthrob Xander Harris on the hit series, becoming everybody's favorite sidekick. Many may not know that Nicholas was born with an identical twin brother, Kelly Donovan, on April 12, 1971. Kelly was present on the set of Buffy, serving as a stand-in for his brother and even joining him on the screen for an episode of the show. Together, the duo attended Wizard World Comic Con in 2011.


Joseph Fiennes

Everyone knows that English actor and The Handmaid's Tale star Joseph Fiennes is the younger brother of Academy Award-nominated Ralph Fiennes. Few are aware that Joseph has a twin brother, Jacob. Born on May 27, 1970, the duo became part of an artfully minded family. They have four other siblings in the art world; Ralph is an actor, Magnus is a composer, and their sisters are Martha and Sophie are both filmmakers. While Joseph followed the acting path, Jacob started a career as a conservationist.


Shawn Ashmore

X-Men star Shawn Ashmore was born on October 7, 1979, alongside twin brother Aaron. Together they both went into the acting world, often appearing on screen with one another but also separately seeking out roles. According to Aaron, Shawn would frequently be cast as the good guy while he himself was cast as the bully. Shawn would find success as Bobby Drake/Iceman in the X-Men series and in films like The Ruins and Acts of Violence. Aaron is known for his television roles, such as Jimmy Olsen in Smallville, Warehouse 13, and Killjoys.
