Supers in "The Incredibles"

Throughout Disney's The Incredibles (and its sequel), we see a variety of "supers", each with their own slew of powers. It's not clear where supers get their abilities from (though it seems to be at least partially genetic), but they provide a variety of awesome traits, even if society doesn't always accept them.

Of course, some superpowers are more helpful than others—which reign supreme? These are the ten strongest supers in The Incredibles franchise!

Dehydra

Dehydra

10. Dehydra

Real Name: Unknown
Power: Sand control

Dehydra isn't featured much in the films; much of what we know about her stems from the video game LEGO The Incredibles. Nevertheless, she wields various abilities like manipulating sand, which she also uses to fly. Since Dehydra can control sand's density, one of her favorite techniques is to soften sand around a foe's body, then harden it, trapping them in a rock-solid cage.

Psycwave

Psycwave

9. Psycwave

Real Name: Unknown
Power: Telekinesis, future sight, body possession

Psycwave belonged to super-team the Phantasmics, and there's some confusion about her power rating. On the one hand, she was allegedly killed by Syndrome's first version of the Omnidroid and assigned the lowest threat rating.

However, her body was never found, so she may have fled into hiding, and the low rating may reflect how her mental powers won't affect robots. Against sentient enemies, she's a force to be reckoned with, able to move objects via telekinesis, possess other bodies, and even predict the future to an extent.

Frozone

Frozone

8. Frozone

Real Name: Lucius Best
Power: Ice control

Mr. Incredible's charismatic best friend is always ready to lend his ally's family a helping hand, and his versatile ice manipulation lets him tackle nearly any situation. He can use it as a non-lethal projectile to freeze foes in their tracks, and he's surprisingly mobile, forming ice paths to quickly skate along.

Frozone was the Omnidroid v.8's original target (by which time it had already felled many heroes), showcasing a high regard of Lucius's abilities.

Elastigirl

Elastigirl

7. Elastigirl

Real Name: Helen Parr
Power: Elasticity

Mrs. Incredible, aka Elastigirl, can stretch her body to extreme lengths, up to about 30 meters! She's pretty creative with the potential here, stretching to form parachutes, slingshot her body at rapid speed, form a boat, and more.

Her body's resilience also makes her sturdier than her thin frame would imply, and she's a skilled pilot to boot, although she's weak to cold environments.

Dash Parr

Dash Parr

6. Dash

Real Name: Dash Parr
Power: Super speed

The eldest son of the Incredibles is only ten years old, but already demonstrates amazing agility. Dash's maximum speed isn't known, but he's fast enough to run across water, and was able to propel a boat (well, his mother distorted into a makeshift one) across the ocean by simply kicking fast enough.

Dash also has enhanced stamina and reflexes accompanying his speed, and he'll probably get even faster as he ages.

Brainstorm

Brainstorm

5. Brainstorm

Real Name: Unknown
Power: Telepathy

It's too bad Brainstorm only gets a cameo in The Incredibles 2, as he brandishes fierce telepathic prowess. He can read and project thoughts up to 120 miles away, create illusions to disguise himself or distract foes, and even directly control minds!

While he tries to avoid violating others' privacy, he's been known to manipulate minds to think no time is passing when it really is, letting him defuse threats with little resistance.

Mr. Incredible

4. Mr. Incredible

Real Name: Robert Parr
Power: Super strength

Mr. Incredible's defining feature is his enhanced muscles, making him ridiculously strong. His limits aren't known, but we've seen him bench-pressing a train weighing 153 tons. Plus, his strong leg muscles let him run and jump faster than you'd think.

He was also assigned the highest threat rating in the Kronos databank, and defeated the Omnidroid v.8, a machine many other supers had fallen to.

Blazestone

Blazestone

3. Blazestone

Real Name: Unknown
Power: Pyrokinesis

A former flame of Frozone, Blazestone wields mastery over fire. She can fly by riding hot air, shoot projectiles and melt inbound ones, and generate fire bombs that can mentally control, letting her set up attacks ahead of time.

Most interestingly, Blazestone can teleport by traveling to the "Brimstone Dimension", then using it to emerge in the blink of an eye. Coupled with her flight, this effectively makes her the fastest super yet.

Jack-Jack's laser eyes

2. Jack-Jack

Real Name: Jack-Jack Parr
Power: Shapeshifting

Of course, Jack-Jack's still a baby, so he's not really up for crimefighting yet. But he'll undoubtedly become one of the strongest supers of all time, as his shapeshifting accesses a variety of powers.

He can mimic the appearance of others, shoot laser beams, set himself ablaze, travel through other dimensions, levitate, and transform into various modes, like a giant version of himself or a berserk demon baby. It's implied that young supers may lose some of their powers as they age, but even a fraction of Jack-Jack's list warrants his slot.

Universal Man

Universal Man

1. Universal Man

Real Name: Unknown
Power: Density control

Like Pscywave, Universal Man was assigned an oddly low threat rating (2.9) by the Omnidroid and defeated by its first version, but he was likely caught by surprise, as his slew of powers should have crushed it. Unlike other supers, he doesn't even have an alter ego, preferring to stay super 24-7.

He can alter matter's density, letting him fly by making his body lightweight, render himself indestructible, and increase his strength to enormous amounts. As if that weren't enough, he can create black holes and control people by becoming intangible and solidifying inside of them, dangerous powers he wields with caution.

Other Supers in the Incredibles

Although the films focus on the Parr family, a surprising number of capable background heroes makes narrowing a list to ten challenging, with prominent supers like Violet narrowly missing the cut.

Syndrome also deserves mention, as he lacks actual powers but invented gadgets that compensate, but for now, vote for your favorite abilities and I'll see you at our next film countdown!
