Power Levels in "One-Punch Man"
Where many anime have heroes that gradually gain in power to become top-tier warriors, One-Punch Man makes no secret of its overpowered protagonist, able to defeat most foes with a single hit.
Both parodying and celebrating ridiculous anime characters, OPM nonetheless introduces an elaborate world full of fierce monsters and heroes who wouldn't be out of place in an Avengers film—which reign supreme? These are the ten strongest One-Punch Man characters!
Primary villain of the Super Fight Arc, Gouketsu is a dragon-level threat who effortlessly beat S-rank Genos and dragon-rank Bakuzan in battle. Gouketsu's immense power caused Saitama to step in and finish him, though even Gouketsu was unable to damage the nigh-invincible hero.
9. Elder Centipede
Classified as a dragon-level mysterious being, Elder Centipede is surprisingly tactical despite his mindless appearance. He proves his power by easily tackling three S-class heroes (Genos, Bang, and Bomb), and Gyoro Gyoro noted only a few heroes could handle him, including…
8. Metal Knight
Also known as Dr. Bofoi, Metal Knight is a unique hero made formidable by his intelligence and weaponry more than his physical strength—basically his world's Batman. He employs an army of robots to fight on his behalf, a force so large the Hero Association fears him ever going rogue.
"Monster King" Orochi is actually the puppet of his creator, Psykos, with the pair working together to command hundreds of fiends. Each is already dragon-class on their own, and fused into one, they rival Tatsumaki in power.
One of Orochi's great abilities is his shapeshifting, able to warp his body even after being nearly destroyed by Saitama.
6. Flashy Flash
One-Punch features several speedsters, like Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, but Flashy Flash remains the fastest yet despite his silly name. He's one of few heroes who doesn't fear Tatsumaki, and his speed was notably high enough to impress Saitama.
Perhaps Flashy Flash's greatest feat was when he simultaneously fought and defeated two Dragon-level monsters (Gale Wind and Hellfire).
Class: Human-Monster hybrid
Garou is one of the most interesting villains in the franchise; like Genos, he gradually gains strength, ultimately becoming part-monster in his quest for power. In fact, the martial artist's greatest feat is his incredible growth rate, gaining strength remarkably fast and eclipsing most threats in battle, even ones he was initially weaker than. His malicious acts put him on the side of evil, but he does display honorable traits on occasion.
Essentially the monster counterpart to Saitama, Boros is so much stronger than those around him, he became deadened to life, as nothing presented a threat—until he met the bald hero. The two engaged in an epic battle, and though Boros ultimately lost, he is one of very few foes Saitama had to attack more than once (thanks to his regeneration).
He even knocked Saitama straight from Earth into the moon, and was noted by series creator ONE that he rivals Garou in ability.
Considered the organization's second-strongest member, Tatsumaki is a cold, unflinching esper, the strongest psychic in the world. She's considered invincible against conventional tactics thanks to her telekinetic powers, and Darkshine once noted that even Garou would eventually lose to her.
The mysterious rank-one hero, we know very little of Blast, other than he dominated the Elder Centipede in a past fight. Beyond that, Blast's whereabouts, powers, and nature aren't well-known.
Despite this, Tasumaki's younger sister Fubuki puts Blast in a class of his own, believing he could easily defeat the rest of the S-heroes, perhaps only overcome by…
The infamous "one-punch" man himself, Saitama has no latent superpowers, but somehow obtained unimaginable strength via a simple training regimen. He's usually the one to clean up any monsters threats lesser heroes fail against, almost always able to vanquish foes with one hit.
Though Saitama can't fly, shoot energy, or use other superhuman powers, his natural strength, speed, and endurance are simply far too strong for others to compete with.
S-Class Heroes in One-Punch Man
In addition to today's list, many S-Class heroes just missed the cut, like Saitama's pupil Genos and the lightning-fast Sonic. Monsters such as the Deep-Sea King also deserve mention, but for now, vote for your favorite titan and I'll see you at our next anime countdown!
