Cheeky Kid has been watching anime and reading manga for as long as he can remember. Doing so takes him to different worlds.
Did you know that the Japanese phrase "Tonikaku Kawaii" can be translated as "adorable, anyways" and "cute, no matter what" in English? Well, I’m just stating this fact for your reference because Tonikaku Kawaii, a.k.a. ToniKawa: Over the Moon For You, is an anime that is really adorable and cute!
My heart just can't handle Tonikaku Kawaii. It's too much. But even so, I need more. I crave for more.
It's a good thing that it isn't unhealthy to have too much of these things.

1. ‘High Score Girl’
Watching High Score Girl is like eating your favorite childhood dessert. You find it delightfully sweet and exquisitely nostalgic.
Why do I say so?
Well, I say so chiefly because High Score Girl masterfully uses the 90s' video gaming scene by incorporating it into a “coming of age” and “juvenile love” story. And the result is a feel-good nostalgia train ride that can make even an obstinate heart pitter-patter.
If you're looking for something sweet, sentimental, and sympathetic to tug at your heartstrings, then High Score Girl is the show to watch.
There is something about tales of romance establishing the pairing and the relationship from the get-go that resonate with me.
Perhaps it's the convenience of not having to deal with all the winding pretensions and fluffs that come before a confession or the romantic relationship itself? Or maybe I just want the characters to get on with it already?
Well, it's a good thing Horimiya seems to know what I fancy!
Horimiya is a romance comedy anime that builds itself profoundly around a slice-of-life theme. Its title is actually a combination of the names of Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura (the couple of the show), so we pretty much already know who ends up with whom. And the rest is history!
If you want to know the minute details, the fleeting moments, and the juicy parts of Hori and Miyamura's romantic and comedic relationship, then you just have to find out yourself.
3. ‘Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san’ (‘Skilled Teaser Takagi-san’)
Imagine constantly being teased by your crush. Would you be annoyed? Or would you be blushing like an idiot?
If you answered "yes" to both questions, then you're just like Nishikata from Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san who is both annoyed and blushing like an idiot! This is all, by the way, thanks to Takagi's incessant yet wholesome teasing.
Quite frankly, I think the relationship dynamic between Nishikata and Takagi in Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san is truly exceptional for a slice-of-life/comedy/romance anime. I mean, it's just so rare for anime couples to actually tickle my heart and make me blush continuously. But Nishikata and Takagi managed to pull it off; effortlessly at that!
If your goal is to find a simple and lighthearted anime that can actually make your heart go "doki doki" with little effort, then it is in your best interest to watch Karaki Jouzu no Takagi-san.
If you want cute, then cute is what you’re going to get! But only if you watch Momokuri as soon as you can.
Momokuri is the perfect example of what a “moe” anime is. That means this is the kind of show that can fire you up, fill you with passion, and make your heart pound with its cuteness and adorableness. It’s all “puppy love” with this show, mind you. When watching this show, you just can’t help but go “hnnnggg” at every cute moment!
By the way, this show’s title “Momokuri” comes from the names of its main characters, Shinya Momotsuki and Yuki Kurihara. There’s a big chance that you’ve never heard about this anime before because it is woefully underrated. But now that I’m telling you about it, I hope you give it a chance. Momokuri is good for the heart, I promise you.
5. ‘Tsurezure Children’
You know a romance anime is serious in trying to make your heart thump when it's bombarding you with not just one, not even two, but multiple sprightly stories of young love!
There's a myriad of romantic escapades in Tsurezure Children; most, if not all, are lightsome, flirty, and captivating. I actually can't believe how concentrated with warmth and tenderness each story from this anime is. And there's a ton of them, I'm telling you.
It's probably best for you to just experience it firsthand. After all, Tsurezure Children is quite an underrated show. Consider yourself lucky for discovering it. Congratulations!
