Are you looking for other action and fantasy anime? Here is a list of anime like Attack on Titan that you might enjoy.

1. Gantz

Gantz is a horror and thriller anime written and illustrated by Hiroya Oku. It tells the story of high school friends Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato, who die while trying to save a man. After their death, they find themselves in a posthumous game, locked in an apartment and unable to leave, along with several other people who have also recently died.

In the room is a black sphere called Gantz. The sphere opens up and a text appears, telling them that they must kill aliens within a limited time.

Gantz is not for the faint of heart. It has both violent and sexual content. However, if you want something that will thrill you from start to finish, then Gantz should be at the top of your to-watch list.

2. Claymore

Claymore is set on a mythical island where humans are plagued by demonic beasts called Yoma. These Yoma are humanoid shape-shifters that feed on humans. To fight back, a group known as The Organization creates human-Yoma hybrids that destroy Yoma for a fee. The public refers to these beings as Claymores, because they wield clay swords as their primary weapon.

The series follows the story of a boy named Raki, who loses everything after a Yoma attack, and Clare, a Claymore with unparalleled devotion to her sworn objective.

3. Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the most popular anime series of all time. It first aired from October 1995 to March 1996 and has revolutionized the mecha genre. For hardcore anime fanatics, Neon Genesis Evangelion is simply legendary.

The story is set in a futuristic Tokyo, fifteen years after a world-wide cataclysm. The action revolves around a special paramilitary force known as NERV, which works to prevent another disaster brought on monsters called Angels. To fight the Angels, NERV created bio-machines called Eva, which are specially designed to engage in combat with Angels, though only a handful of humans can control them.

Shinji Ikari is the son of the head of NERV. When he is recruited to control an Evangelion, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a huge conflict between Evas and Angels, with the fate of mankind in his hands.

4. Chrome Shelled Regios

This story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world filled with beasts called Filth Monsters. Their presence forces residents to live on mobile cities called Regios, where they utilize weapons called DITE and harness the power of Kei to protect themselves from the monsters.

Layfon Alseif wants to forget his military past and start anew in the Academy City of Zuellni. However, the Student Council President, Kalian Loss, and Military Arts student, Nina Antalk, find out about his military background and decide that Layfon is a perfect candidate to join the 17th Platoon.

Troubled by an unforgiving past, will Layfon muster his courage and take on the challenges that lay ahead?

5. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann is set in the distant future on an Earth ruled by the Spiral King, Lordgenome. The evil king has forced all residents to live in subterranean caves. In the small village of Jiha, there is a digger named Simon who discovers a glowing object. He meets Kamina and together they form the Gurren Brigade, a group that aims to break through the ceiling of the cave and see if there is a world waiting for them on the surface.

Simon and Kamina soon discover that the world outside isn’t what they have imagined and find themselves teaming up with other humans against the forces of Lordgenome.

6. Hellsing Ultimate

Hellsing is a secret arm of the British government led by Integra Wingates Hellsing, who inherited the leadership of the organization after her father’s death. The organization battles supernatural threats in England, defending people from beings like the undead, vampires, and ghouls.

Integra is joined by family butler, Walter C. Dornez, Alucard (the world's most powerful vampire) and Seras Victoria, a former police officer whom Alucard turned into a vampire. They engage in a three-sided war against the Nazi group called Millennium and the Vatican Section XIII Iscariot.

Who will be the last one standing?

7. D.Gray-man

D.Gray-man tells the story of 15-year old Allen Walker, a boy with the ability to transform his left arm into a monstrous claw and destroy Akuma, mechanic weapons created by the Millennium Earl to help him destroy humanity.

When Allen joins the Black Order and becomes an exorcist, he is ordered to recover pieces of Innocence, a substance that exorcists need to defeat Akuma. Both sides are ultimately looking for the Heart, the most powerful Innocence which will guarantee victory to the side that captures it.

Hellsing ultimate gets soooo boring after episode 4. Same thing over and over, made me want alucard to shoot me.

Anyway Tokyo Ghoul is in the same ballpark as far as transformation and wanting to kill other ghouls. Both stuggle for control and it has lots of humor, ghouls can only eat human flesh...and coffee...

SERAPH ON THE END is so similar to Attack On Titan, the whole "slaughtered family" and "revenge is all I live for" is in it. Ive heard its even made by the same studio? Not sure. But Its my favorite anime atm, can't get enough!

All of the above are great save one... Neon Genesis Evangelion. I loved it from the start, really got into it but it lost me at the end. I was so frustrated with the ending, I can't even go back and watch the rest again.

Whoa, wait, what? Gurren Lagann is about the furthest thing you can possibly get from Attack on Titan. There may be an inhuman oppressive force at work in both series, but Gurren Lagann is tenaciously and ferociously optimistic and light-hearted (most of the time) whereas Attack on Titan is tenaciously and ferociously brutal and depressing.
