Ao Haru Ride: A Romantic-Comedy, Slice-of-Life Anime

Thousands of anime lovers are looking for anime like Ao Haru Ride after this romcom anime captivated their hearts. Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride) shows that true love triumphs over any obstacle that may get in the way. Its compelling storyline is highlighted by unanticipated conflicts, keeping viewers at the edge of their seat, awaiting what will happen next.

Yoshioka Futaba has a few reasons why she wants to "reset" her image and lifestyle as a fresh high-school pupil. She was cold-shouldered by her female friends in junior high just because of her cuteness. As a consequence of a mistake, she could never get her feelings across to the one boy she actually liked, Tanaka-kun.

Today, in high school, she tries to be as un-feminine as possible, so that her friends won’t be envious of her. She and Tanaka-kun meet again, but he now goes under the name Mabuchi Kou. He tells her that he sensed the exact same manner when her friends were younger, as she did, but now things cannot ever be the same again. Will Futaba continue her love from three years back, a love that never even got started?

1. Kimi ni Todoke

Kuronuma Sawako is totally misunderstood by her school mates. Her timid and sweet conduct is usually mistaken for malice, just because she looks like the ghost girl from "The Ring." This resemblance has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to socialize and live a normal life, she's naturally attracted to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose "100% refreshing" character earns him great admiration from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts conversing with her, Sawako dares to hope for the friendship she has always longed for. Perhaps ... there's even a bit of hope for some romance in her future.

2. Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji

The narrative centers on Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, although in reality she does not have any boyfriend. Erika insists that the good-looking lad in a photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is just a schoolmate. Erika feels she has no choice other than make him her pretend boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may appear to be a sweet man, but he is an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata treats Erika like his puppy and takes advantage of her weakness.

3. Sukitte Ii na Yo

Quiet and unassuming Mei Tachibana has spent her high school years without finding a boyfriend because of a childhood episode that left her believing that people would betray each other sooner or later. One day, a popular boy becomes interested in her, and it is through their tentative friendship and blossoming relationship that Mei ultimately begins befriending others, slowly but surely expanding her social circle. But her special relationship with the most popular boy in school leads to countless problems that she isn't prepared for.

4. Bokura ga Ita

Nanami Takahashi welcomes the start of her high school life with great anticipation of making as many friends as possible. There's a great deal of talk among the girls about the most popular lad in school, Motoharu Yano. Two-thirds of the girls in his middle school had a crush on him. When Nanami asks Yuri Yamamoto, the girl sitting next to her, about Yano, Yuri says she dislikes him. Nanami is clueless as to the identity of Yano until the day of the class nomination when she makes a fool of herself by calling her friend by the wrong name. It turns out that she really had met Yano along the corridors (unaware of his true identity), but he tricked her by providing a made-up name, causing the humiliating affair in class. After a couple of meetings with him, Nanami starts to discover herself liking him, although she was initially mad at him.

5. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

My Little Monster concentrates on the partnership of Shizuku Mizutani, who has absolutely no interests beyond studying and her future career, with a lad named Haru Yoshida, who sits in class next to Shizuku but rarely attends school. Shizuku meets Haru when she is assigned the task of bringing class printouts to Haru's house. Haru instantaneously greets her as a buddy, beginning their new connection. Nicknamed "Dry Ice," Shizuku has the reputation of a woman who's emotionless and cold. But when she meets Haru, she connects with his innocence and his insufficient knowledge about human relationships. Though he has the reputation of a violent and uncontrollable monster, Haru is really gentle and kind. Haru instantaneously declares his love towards Shizuku, but it takes considerably longer for Shizuku to accept and comprehend her own feelings towards Haru. Together, they help each other: two beings who used to be unsociable learn how to care for others and make friends.

6. Itazura na Kiss

Ever since she entered high school, Kotoko Aihara has wanted to be in exactly the same classes as Irie. The big problem is that Irie is the most intelligent student in school while Kotoko is among the stupidest. Now in her third year of high school, she still isn't where she wants to be. But one day, after her house is destroyed, the single place left to go to is Irie's home. Now that she lives close to him, will their connection be the same, or will a special relationship blossom as they get to know each other?

7. Lovely Complex

Otani and Risa are consistently being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa is way taller than the typical girl while Otani is only of average height. The two are constantly bickering, and even their instructor sees them as a comedy act. As they truly come to understand each other, Risa's feelings for Otani begin to blossom, and her love life gets complicated from there on. Otani continues to see Risa as just a friend, despite her obvious attempts to show her true feelings.
