Ikki Takeda was one of the strongest enemies Kenichi faced. During their first encounter, it’s obvious that Ikki would easily grab the victory if fought seriously. But then again, his loss against Kenichi gave him hope. Kenichi introduced Ikki to his master Akisame who is famous across the country in traditional and alternative medicine. Akisame claimed that he can totally heal Ikki’s left arm so he can chase his long-time dream which is to become professional boxer. Ikki was amazed about the possibilities and filled with excitement after achieving noticeable results. This marked the start of the true friendship he shared with Kenichi. He often saves Kenichi at times of despair. Kenichi in return assures Ikki that Ragnarok won’t be a hindrance to him as he tries to reach his goals in life.

Natsu Tinamoto was first introduced as the President of the Kenichi’s school drama club. To Kenichi’s surprise, he turned out to be one of Ragnarok’s generals. Natsu practice Chinese martial arts taught by Kensei Ma’s brother. During his fight against Kenichi, he realized that martial arts is not just a tool to hurt people and dominate. He was amazed about Kenichi’s bond with his masters which encouraged him to train once more. After losing, Natsu decided to leave Ragnarok and follow a path of righteousness. Thanks to Kenichi, he now has a glimpse of what true strength really means. Whether he will turn out to be an ally or foe in the near future is not certain. What I’m sure about is that Natsu Tanimoto has the potential to be among the greatest martial artists the world has ever known.

Among Kenichi’s masters, Akisame Koetsuji is the one who really has what it takes to teach. He was the first to accept Kenichi as a disciple. At first, his main goal was simply to help the little kid gain enough stamina and strength to survive a brutal fight. As Kenichi progressed, Akisame realized that the boy has the heart to become a great martial artist. He always emphasize that brute strength is not a must in martial arts. What you need is a calm mind, well-trained body, and most importantly a heart that never gives up and is willing to fight for what is right.

It has been a trend in anime shows to include a pervert and Kensei Ma embraced such kind of role in Kenichi the Strongest Disciple. He is a master of Chinese martial arts. Kensei might look pale and weak but don’t be fooled. His goofy moves can turn the battle’s tide in an instant, a fact proven by Kenichi himself in majority of his fights. Kensei considers Kenichi as his own son. The funny part is that they bond not only in martial arts but also on how to peek at the ladies. Their favorite subject is Miu but the two of them usually ends up failing on their perverted plans.

Shigure Kosaka is a female ninja who masters the art of spying and using all sorts of weapons. She is probably the most dangerous among the masters since she seem to have killed countless individuals in her previous life. This is evident on how she calmly handles danger and considers death as something really normal which is of course a rare trait to observe from a woman.

She is curious about Kenichi from the start. Shigure usually peeks during Kenichi’s sparring sessions and make sure their disciple is alright. Eventually, she cared for Kenichi like an older sister. Shigure Kosaka may seem to be mean and aloof but I’m certain that deep inside her boyish personality is sister-like heart who will do everything to keep her younger brother Kenichi away from harm.

Apachai Hopachai is a ferocious Muai Thai fighter. He mastered his martial arts through rigorous training. Restrain is not on Apachai’s dictionary as he pours 100% in every punch and kick he throws. It became natural to him after being in the ring for many years where his life was at stake in every fight. Apachai is very eager to teach Kenichi but their sparring often ends up in disaster. Kenichi being knocked out half-dead by Apachai’s punch has become a common sight in the Dojo. Apachai worked hard in learning how to control his rage. His aim is to teach Kenichi the secrets of Muai Thai without killing him in the process. It may sound funny but Apachai is very serious about it. He never had a single disciple before so he is working double-time to be master Kenichi needs.

Shio Sakaki is a Karate master who was at first reluctant about teaching Kenichi. Eventually, he saw Kenichi’s eagerness and his pure heart convincing him to share his art to the little weak boy. He often gives discouraging words to Kenichi but it doesn’t mean he cared less about his only pupil.

Some rumors say that Shio’s karate is second to none and he can easily defeat even someone twice his size without even lifting a finger. He might be stubborn master but Shio Sakaki is my personal favorite. I like the way he hid his feelings toward his only disciple. He cares for Kenichi like a big brother to the extent that he won’t think twice about risking his own life just to save the little boy who made him experience how to become master.

Hayato Furinji is the Ryozanpaku Dojo’s master. He is master in Karate and other martial arts technique. As a fighter, he is known across the globe to be unbeatable. Hayato is strong enough to set someone flying by merely using his aura. Rumors say that no one managed to survive after receiving the full power attack of Hayato Furinji.

As a grandfather, Hayato Furinji is very protective. Despite knowing how hard it is to train karate, he set aside all his care for Miu and teaches her martial arts so she can at least defend herself upon eminent danger. To see her grandchild suffer at the course of the training breaks her heart but endured while believing that protecting Miu should be his main priority.

Miu Furinji is the granddaughter of Hayato Furinji, a martial artist known worldwide for his immense power and flawless karate technique. She met Kenichi Shirahama after transferring to a new school. She is a very pretty woman so several guys noticed and had a crush on him including Kenichi. Their bond went deeper when Kenichi tried to save her from a group of thugs. What Kenichi don’t know is that Miu is a karate expert as she was trained by her grandfather at a very young age. Miu admired Kenichi’s passion for helping the weak so she introduced him to their dojo. Though eager to be strong, Kenichi was hesitant to undergo rigorous training to achieve such goal but Miu was always there to serve as an encouragement. He wants to be stronger not just to be a protector of the weak but impress Miu as well. Miu on the other hand may not need Kenichi’s protection but it’s evident that she is slowly falling for the weak man who has a very big heart.

Kenichi Shirahama dreams to become a hero and protect everyone dear to him. However, he initially lacks the courage and strength to do so. In fact, he was bullied during his junior high years and is expecting to follow the same fate as he reaches high school. Everything changed when he met Miu Furinji, a gorgeous transferee student who knows a lot about karate. Kenichi tried to rescue her from a group of thugs but he ended up being saved by Miu instead.

Kenichi may lack innate talent in fighting but he definitely has the heart. At dire situations, Kenichi forgets about his weaknesses and fears just to save Miu or anyone whom he considers a friend. He can’t also resist helping someone who is bullied because he knows how terrible it feels. Kenichi decided to be a disciple of the Ryozanpaku Dojo and trained by a group of masters so he can finally protect the oppressed.
