Cheeky Kid has been watching anime and reading manga for as long as he can remember. Doing so takes him to different worlds.

They say that laughter is the best medicine. I say that it is the ultimate cure!

I am glad that comedy anime shows always make an appearance every year. Some of them are extremely funny, and some of them are so-so. But, what’s important is that all of them are trying to cure the world with laughter!

This time around, let us focus on the comedy anime shows of 2015. I’ve compiled five of them so you wouldn't have to scavenge around looking for them yourself. Nonetheless, feel free to search for other funny anime shows from 2015 if you want. I am not going to stop you. But please, do share them in the comments section if you’ve got the time.

Anyway, the five titles I have listed here are convincingly amusing and entertaining. I am not certain anymore how many times I've laughed watching them all. That says a lot! Now, it’s your time to laugh, so help yourself to these hilarious shows!

1. Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE!

One look at Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE! and you might subconsciously mutter: “What the heck is this?!”

Well, I won’t censure you. It is not your fault. I know that anime shows starring magical boys are not that common and well established in our current age and time. But, I must tell you—Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE! is a rare gem!

Sure, the overall theme of Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu LOVE! may seem awkward and strange. However, this show is as comical and amusing as seeing a pink wombat! Yup, you heard that right. This show is funny and humorous!

I never thought the idea of putting several silly boys in a ‘magical girl’ setting would be this chuckle-worthy. Well, this show is a comedy and parody anime after all.

Himouto! Umaru-chan

2. Himouto! Umaru-chan

Himouto! Umaru-chan is one of the most surprising anime shows of 2015! At first, I thought it was just an ordinary slice-of-life anime series. But then, it made me chuckle. And then some more. It captivated me with its cuddliness and warmth. It is funny and refreshing—just how a comedy/slice-of-life anime should be!

If you want to feel good and relaxed, then Himouto! Umaru-chan is the anime show to watch! Trust me, as you watch through this show, you will find yourself embraced by all things comfy and warm. Although this show is no different from a mundane life experience, it is definitely funny, cozy, and toasty. And for these I give it overwhelming credit!

Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront)

3. Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront)

Watch out!

In Kekkai Sensen, New York City is no longer the same as before! It is now called Hellsalem’s Lot, and it is trapped in an impermeable bubble with all sorts of otherworldly monsters lurking about.

There’s nothing to worry about anything though! The humans left in the city have managed to coexist with the monsters. Although things can get quite chaotic, the organization known as ‘Libra’—chiefly composed of eccentrics and superhumans—is doing its best to keep peace and order.

Now, enough chatter and let’s get to the essence of this wacky show! Oops, did that slip out? Yes, this show is wacky! Its plot is straightforward and it can get quite serious, but overall—it’s zany! It is comical in a lot of aspects. But, what really makes this show great is its visuals!

Every scene of action pops out! Its art and animation are eye candies! And don’t even get me started with its soundtrack. Oh well, the only way for you to fully realize what I’m saying here is for you to watch Kekkai Sensen in full view!

Osomatsu-san

4. Osomatsu-san

“Who would watch an anime show like this?!”

This is the initial reaction I made when I decided to set my eyes on Osomatsu-san. To be fair, I was scrutinizing it superficially. Many of its characters look the same. Its art is gimmicky and caricaturish—resembling that of old cartoon shows. Everything makes no sense!

Well, everything I said is true, but I was indeed judging Osomatsu-san based only on its cover! You see, judging this show based only on its appearance is a huge mistake!

This show is actually hilarious! It took me quite some time to figure that out, but I managed to pull it off. While it’s true that Osomatsu-san appears to be unorthodox, I believe that it only needs some getting-used-to before it can be truly appreciated. It is crude, yes, but it is also brilliant. It is not what it seems to be. Even though it appears to be simple, gimmicky, and nonsensical, it got into me—making me guffaw my innards out!

Prison School

5. Prison School

If I were to describe Prison School with one phrase, I would choose the phrase—“High risk, high reward!”

Ah, how that phrase perfectly describes Prison School. After all, this show is one of the funniest ecchi anime in existence!

The visuals, the sound, and the characters—everything elicits laughter in Prison School! And I’m not even joking. Prison School boasts not just its titillating scenes, but also its ability to expertly deliver its dirty jokes at the right place and time. There's no doubt about it—this show has the power to completely appeal to the senses!

Do watch it alone if I were you. This show entails a high risk to yield a high reward. It’s not for everyone. However, if you’re into unbearably humorous dirty jokes and unblushing fan service, then Prison School is for you!
