Reigning as one of the most epic (and I mean EPIC!) anime ever produced, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann went crazily out-of-this-world by literally conquering the whole universe!

In just a span of twnty-six (26) episodes, this anime drastically transitioned from a humble below-the-dirt beginning to a full-pledged intergalactic conquest. That's how amazingly epic this anime is!

All of that being said, it's only natural that this anime received an infinitesimal amount of notoriety and fame as one of the biggest anime bad-ass in the world! And so, I'm gonna try to provide you with more anime like Gurren Lagann (which are close enough to its epicness) in order to blow your steaming cover off!

Without further chatter, here I present to you -- some of the anime similar to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann!

Epic Plot of Gurren Lagann:

Hiding away within the darkness of the world, humanity has been shamed to live underground for countless of years in fear of the beastmen and dangers on the surface. As a matter of fact, no one believes anymore that the surface really does exist.

In one of the villages underground, there lives a boy called "Simon the Digger" whose constant excavation lead him to discover a drill-shaped object that mysteriously glows. On the other hand, there's "Kamina", a young man whose burning passion is unparalleled in the whole underworld and whose ambition is to set out into the surface.

Together, both Simon and Kamina forms the Gurren Brigade and proceeds to break out to the surface. And with Simon's phenomenal drill at hand, humanity shall soon make an epic breakthrough that will even pierce the heavens and the universe!

Amongst all the anime in the world right now, there exists an anime that made it to the EPIC list in a swift breeze with its revolutionary scenes and compelling story-line. Besides those mentioned, this anime also carved its way to glory with its unprecedented quality and off-the-beaten-track action. The anime I'm talking about here is - Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan).

Given the same dire situation, Shingeki no Kyojin depicts the struggle of mankind against the flesh-hungry titans that drove them to hide and fearfully live within the protection of gigantic walls. After hundreds of years of living peacefully within the walls, a bunch of aberrant titans suddenly shows up to bestow destruction upon humanity.

With the unfortunate tidings that's going around and even experiencing the tragedy of the titan-attack, a boy named Eren grows up to join the military with a deadly spite against the titans. His goal now is to exact his revenge by killing off all the titans in the world and take back everything that rightfully belongs to humanity.

And thus, the epic story and action of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) begins!

Next on the list is an anime that's so awesome that it's also one of the longest anime series ever. Being one of the longest-running anime series in history of Japanese animation, that just means that its well-received and well-done. This mainstream shounen anime is the one known as - One Piece!

One Piece is tells about the extravagant pirate tale of Monkey D. Luffy as he embarks on a sea journey to find the legendary pirate treasure - One Piece. As he travels through oceans filled with danger and peril, he gains a couple of friends (nakama) that will soon build up the notoriety of his own pirate crew - the Straw Hat Pirates.

And so, as they journey through all the tides and waves of the pirate world, they all come to experience an epic yet wacky adventure that will conquer not just the ocean, but the whole world. The search for the legendary treasure, One Piece, commences. Bon Voyage!

You there, why not join the Straw Hat Pirate crew and go with the grand voyage as well? I tell you now, this is gonna be a once-in-a-life-time opportunity. Well, given the length of the anime, it just might last a lifetime.

From the creators of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, here comes another anime that is full of epicness and awesome stunts that will literally make your jaw drop in amazement! Brace for it as it's coming towards you in the speed-of-life. Here's the anime - Kill la Kill!

Following her father's death, Ryuuko Matoi ventures into different places in order to search for clues concerning her father's killer. As she stumbles from clue to another clue, things finally lead her to a school known as the Honnouji Academy. At that crazy academy, students don upon themselves special uniforms called "Goku", unique types of suits that renders the bearer capable of extreme feats and immense power.

As Ryuuko discovers more about the academy, she comes upon Satsuki Kiryuin -- the leader of the student body and the person who possesses the main leads to what Ryuuko is earnestly searching for. That being the case, there's no preventing now the clash between two powerful girls whose capabilities are supremely out-of-this-world.

Armed with the fact that this anime was created by the same makers of Gurren Lagann, rest assured that the epicness in this one, Kill la Kill, will see to your expectations. This is definitely a crazy anime with all the style and spunk you need!

4. Eureka Seven

Mecha action, light humor, and story depth - those are the elements that makes Eureka Seven similar to Gurren Lagann. And also, there's actually a lot more elements that links the two. But overall, it's the story depth that we're actually focusing on this one. After all, Eureka Seven surely won't fail your expectations with regards to sheer awesomeness.

In one simple town, there's a boy who wishes ardently to become what he wants and make a name on his own power and skill. That boy is 14-year-old Renton Thurston, and he wants to become a member of the LFO group, Gekko State, and ride the Trapar particles in the air through a sport known as reffing.

One day, a mysterious girl named Eureka suddenly shows of in his town with a special type of LFO called Nirvash typeZero which in turn causes a batallion of soldiers come marching by in the simple town. With that, things have become complicated much to Renton's excitement as he finally gets to join Gekkostate, and disappointment because he shall soon learn that it isn't like the way he always thought it was.

Remember when I told you earlier of how Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann managed to pull-off epic stunts and conquer the universe in just twenty-six episodes? Well, the anime I'm about to show you now -which is FLCL (Fooly Cooly)- have managed to pull-off the insanity of action and story in just six (yes 6!) episodes. That's how incredible FLCL is!

In a city where nothing ever seems to happen and every day is at its own slow and usual place, who would have thought that there's gonna be a phenomenon that will break all the silence even for just about a moment. That city - is the city of Mabase, and there lives a young boy whose life is suddenly gonna turn upside-down after encountering and being hit by a crazy girl on a Vespa. From then on, things gradually goes totally-whack until the very climax is reached with mysteries and answers getting unveiled.

So with that, just sit-back and watch the coolness and awesomeness of every bit of episode surprise you off your seat! This anime shall get you pumped with excitement and epicness in just a span of six (6) episodes. After that, you'll just wish be there asking for more like a crazy dud.

What did I ever say about discovering the secrets of the universe and conquering it? Well, Outlaw Star is all about that and more as it'll take you on an adventure through space and have all the adrenaline and star fuel running towards you.

Do you need something or anything done? Well, look no further because no matter what is or how difficult it is, Gene Starwind and his partner Jim Hawking shall do it for you. After all, their business slogan is - "We can do any job."

So what are you waiting for? Go ask them to do yourself a favor and take an adventure to space where all kinds of people and things like pirates, soldiers, treasure, and all kinds of things exist. Who knows? You might just even stumble upon the secrets of the universe itself.

Talk about epicness and uncanny similarity! Suisei no Gargantia (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet) is so much like Gurrenn Lagann in most aspects but severely toned-down and diluted. That doesn't mean it doesn't take the cut though. Because with all regards and especially the climax of story, Suisei no Gargantia actually can live up to its name. Now if only they make more of this on a much grander scale. It actually has a gargantuan potential for that.

Set in the very distant future where all sorts of human civilization and even Earth are no longer thought to be in existence. A young pilot named Ledo engages in the hurricane of the war against the monster race known as "Hidauze" where gets himself thrown up in the chaos and into planet Earth which everyone thought doesn't exist anymore.

On that planet, Ledo gets to discover everything on the planet -its civilation and the way of life- and also, gets a chance to learn the truth about everything he thought was already the truth. Little did he know that something grave in the past is what resulted in the chaos of the present! Now, he has to look deeper into that while living his new life along with his mobile companion, Chamber, and all the residents of Gargantia.

      have you guys ever watched flcl? The ending tells you that she's an alien and the manga is space is it not? And there's robots? Are their not? And bandits? And space travel?
