Are you a cautious person? If you are, then now is definitely not the time to be cautious!

It has been proven that Shinchou Yuusha is quite an unexpected anime. No one expected it to be wondrously hilarious, toppingly plot-driven, and subtly salient. I, myself, thought it would be just like most other generic isekai anime.

I was wrong.

While Shinchou Yuusha may never rise to the hype and glory of a mainstream anime, it certainly deserves the recognition of being a dignified casual go-to isekai/comedy anime. It’s the reason why you’re here after all. So, it’s time to spill its kindred shows!

There’s no need to hold back. Don’t even think about being cautious right now—not even for a second! I guarantee you that this recommendation list is a sure-win! So say it with me: “Ready perfectly!”

1. Hataage! Kemono Michi (Rise Up)

Anyone who hasn’t heard of Hataage! Kemono Michi deserves a suplex from the greatest wrestler of all time, Animal Mask. I mean, how could you not know this hilarious show? It literally came out the same time as Shinchou Yuusha!

Just like Shinchou Yuusha, Hataage! Kemono Michi is a comedy/isekai anime that tries to overreach the common expectation. While it’s not, in any way, mainstream and revolutionary, it’s fairly unique and does its best to deliver serious laughs.

The main character in Hataage! Kemono Michi is an animal-loving wrestler popularly known as Animal Mask! And he’s being summoned to save an RPG-like world from the demon king! This has to be some kind of joke, right? Well, good luck with that.

Now that you know the gist of this show, it’s up to you whether you want to pick it up or not. If you do decide to pick it up, good for you. This show is truly hilarious and unexpected! If not, then I’m telling Animal Mask how much of a beast you are, so that he can suplex you into submission!

2. Hataraku Maou-sama! (The Devil is a Part-Timer!)

Are you getting tired of isekai anime? Well, why not try a reverse isekai anime? Don't worry, this one's just as hilarious as Shinchou Yuusha.

Instead of an eccentric hero, we have an outlandish demon lord traveling from one world to another. But this time, the destination is the real world.

Guess what the ferocious demon lord takes as a job in the real world? Yup, he decides to become a fastfood employee. What an unexpected turn of events!

Just like fastfood, Hataraku Maou-sama! is a delightful temptation. You gotta watch it, else you miss out on an exquisite laughing spree.

3. Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun (Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun)

Quirky main characters are trendy so while we're still at it, lets take a quick look at Aoyama from Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun.

Similar to how Seiya from Shinchou Yuusha is obsessively cautious, Aoyama is a clean freak like no other! Aoyama is obsessive when it comes to cleaning and keeping himself germ-free. He avoids physical contact with other people at all costs. He even makes his own food. He sees to it that he’s 100% clean all the time!

Surprisingly, Aoyama is actually a football star and a popular student in school. How in the world does he manage to participate in such a dirty sport and be at the center of attention in school? Uncanny, but everything’s up for you to find out.

Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun may be a sports anime, but it's really not. This show is actually focused on Aoyama in general and all the comical hi-jinks that come with his zany persona. It’s silly and whack. I think I’ve said enough; go see it for yourself!

4. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World

If you want a full-blown comedy/isekai anime, then my best bet would be KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World!

In my book, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World is the funniest RPG-like isekai anime in existence. I admire how it always succeeds in blowing things out of proportion and deliver the quirkiest gags. This anime is, in essence, a hilarious deconstruction of the isekai genre. Trust me, this show is one of the wildest and most comical isekai you’ll ever see and experience.

As a bonus, you’ll see how ludicrously similar goddess Aqua from this show is to Shinchou Yuusha’s goddess Ristarte. There’s positively no helping when it comes to becoming immersed in this gag-fest of a show.

5. No Game No Life

It seems that there’s absolutely no satiating the world when it comes to shows pivoted on overpowered main characters. Well, here’s another exquisite gem from the isekai genre—No Game No Life!

Here’s the thing about No Game No Life: it’s not just about its overpowered main characters, Shiro and Sora; it’s about the world of Disboard, the dynamics of each and every element in it, and the rules of the game.

As for the mainstays in question, you see, Shiro and Sora are unlike most others. They think and act in clever yet unexpected ways. They’re overpowered in terms of mental capacity and flexibility. As “Blank,” they are primary reason why this anime is superbly engaging and stimulating.

Although there’s far less comedy in No Game No Life as compared to Shinchou Yuusha, not a moment spent watching it fails in tickling the mind. There’s also no mistaking that this show is utterly more sincere and heartfelt. This anime is actually a personal favorite of mine, so I really urge you to watch it in all its vivid goodness.

What are you going to watch next?
